When I first heard about a silent disco on Camps Bay Beach at sunset, I knew I had to try it. The thought of literally dancing to my own beat while the sun melted into the horizon sounded like the perfect mix of fun and absolute freedom. Looking back now, it didn’t just meet my expectations - Silent Events exceeded every single one.
As I arrived at Camps Bay Beach, the sky was painted in shades of pink, orange, and purple. I was handed a pair of headphones, and just like that, I stepped into a world where I could control my soundtrack. With three different DJ channels to choose from, I could easily slip between rhythms, choosing my vibe whenever I felt like it.
There was a genre and beat for everyone—upbeat hits on one channel, chill house on another, and some old-school classics on the third that had people singing out loud.
Each DJ brought their own flavour, and together, they provided the perfect soundscape for such a beautiful experience.
The atmosphere was enchanting. People were dotted across the sand, some dancing on the rocks or even in the water, lost in the music and the moment. You could feel pure joy radiating off everyone, dancing together despite the different music in their ears. The sunset backdrop only enhanced the beauty, casting a golden glow over the crowd.
Whenever I needed a break from dancing, there was a perfect spot on the sand where I’d set up my picnic blanket and snacks. It was so refreshing to sit down for a moment, munch on something, and take in the scene around me before getting back up to dance.
The organisers thought of everything!
As the sky darkened, staff members were stationed around the beach, guiding people to the bathrooms, collecting headphones, and ensuring everything flowed smoothly. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I loved the freedom to just let loose without a care in the world, and with the option to control the volume, it was like the party was even more customised just for me.
Everywhere I looked, people were having the time of their lives, fully immersed in the music and vibes and never overtaken by the music they didn’t enjoy or that was too loud for their taste.
This silent disco at Camps Bay Beach was definitely an experience I never want to miss again.
Dancing at sunset, surrounded by happy, carefree people and incredible music was simply unforgettable.
